Capital City Pickleball DUPR Doubles Tourney
Capital City Pickleball is hosting a DUPR Doubles Tourney on Sunday July 28 at Waterloo Pickleball. The tournament features a round-robin, single elimination format with women’s and men’s brackets and skill levels up to 4.0. Winning teams will receive Volair Mach 2 Forza paddles.

Liveball July Doubles Moneyball Tournament
Liveball will be hosting a doubles moneyball tournament on Sunday July 21 at Lost Pines Pickleball. Teams are guaranteed 4 games to 11 with round-robin pool play, followed by single elimination bracket play to determine the winner.

Texas Ranchers Roundup - MLP Mid-Season Tournament Recap
Congratulations to the Texas Ranchers, who finished 3rd and took home the bronze in a thrilling MLP mid-season tournament!
While this tournament doesn’t count towards overall MLP standings, it is a huge success for the club, as this was the first tournament with Christian Alshon back from injury as well as the first with Quang Duong officially taking part as a full-time Rancher.
In what was one of the best games from the weekend, the Ranchers men’s team of Alshon and Duong took down Ben and Collin Johns in an incredibly hard fought 28-26 match. Additionally, after dropping game two 0-3 against their rivals Dallas Flash Pickleball, the Ranchers reversed their rivalry fortunes with a 3-2 Dreambreaker win over Dallas Flash Pickleball to win third place on the weekend! Amazing job team!

- Won 3-2 🔥 in a Dreambreaker rivalry rematch against Dallas Flash Pickleball, taking home third place!!!
The Texas Ranchers will be back in the saddle again July 25-28 at the MLP 4 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Community News
Pickleland’s Grand Opening Delayed
Pickleland, located at 21427 Martin Ln in Pflugerville, will miss their targeted July 2024 opening. The club shared via email that they are experiencing slight delays due to construction, with their grand opening now slated for Friday August 16.
While this news is unfortunate, we’re still excited to have Pickleland joining the Austin pickleball scene in the very near future. In the meantime, check out the photo below from their new facility.
Longhorn Pickleball Competitive Team Tryouts
Are you a UT student interested in playing pickleball in one of the best college pickleball programs in the country, not to mention being teammates with Major League Pickleball pro Jack Munro?
Longhorn Pickleball is hosting competitive team tryouts on Tuesday, August 27 from 7:30-9:30pm at Urban Pickleball Club downtown. Interested parties must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at UT. Learn more here.
Nameless Saloon Slings Pickleball
Nameless Saloon is open for business at 23296 Nameless Rd in Leander. Featuring two new lighted pickleball courts, live music, and other bar amenities, the venue allows bookable court times and is looking to start leagues soon. Learn more and book court time here.

Upcoming Tournaments, Leagues, Clinics, and Community Events
Community Clinics
- Damian Spillner is running 2-hour clinics in partnership with Austin Deaf Pickleball on July 20, 21, and 22. Multiple times, locations, and clinic types available.
- Local Austin coach Amy Yarbrough, featured in APU Volume 16, is running a number of group clinics in July for players of all skill levels.
- Capital City Pickleball is hosting beginner clinics at Little Zilker Park on 7/25, 8/1, 8/8, and 8/15.
- Dreamland's August clinics and events include dinking with a purpose on 8/2, serve and return on 8/9, transition zone and third shots on 8/16, beating the bangers on 8/23, DUPR Days of Summer on 7/28.
- Heights athletics club is hosting novice/intermediate and intermediate/advanced clinics from Dynamite Pickleball on Tuesday 7/30, Wednesday 7/31, and Thursday 8/1.
- Austin Deaf Pickleball is hosting an Introduction to Pickleball clinic on Wednesday August 14 from 7-9pm at Texas School for the deaf. Paddle and balls provided.
- Pickleland is hosting an adult pickleball camp from September 27-28, and a kids pickleball camp from September 22 -October 13.
Community Events
- Eastside Paddle Club has two events taking place on Saturday, 7/20, including their 5k run club at 9am and a community social from 11am-4pm. Register on their website.
- Capital City Pickleball is hosting a number of July events, including community nights (7/23, 7/30) and SARC socials (7/22, 7/29). They are also hosting DUPR nights at Waterloo pickleball on 7/18 (tonight) and 7/25.
- Austin Deaf Pickleball is hosting a Queen of the court women’s mixer on July 24 from 7-10pm.
- Lobs & Leis: A Pickleball Luau is taking place at Austin Pickle Ranch - Braker Lane on Saturday 7/27.
- A Pickleball Pajama Party is taking place on Thursday, August 1 at 8pm at Urban Pickleball Club downtown. Wear your best Pajamas and enjoy the views of downtown Austin.
- Pickleland is hosting their grand opening event on Friday, August 16 from 9am-4pm, which is free to attend.
